What is a Sprint?

In Scrum, a sprint is a time-boxed period of typically 2-4 weeks during which a potentially releasable product increment is created. The sprint is a core element of the Scrum framework and serves several purposes:

●  It creates a regular cadence for the team to plan, execute, and review their work.
●  It provides a deadline for completing a set of work, which helps to focus the team and increase their sense of urgency.
●  It provides an opportunity for the team to demonstrate the work they have completed to stakeholders and receive feedback.
●  It provides an opportunity for the team to reflect on the past sprint and identify areas for improvement.

During a sprint, the Development Team works on items from the product backlog that have been selected by the Product Owner. The team aims to create a potentially releasable product increment that meets the Definition of Done. The sprint is also time-boxed to a set duration (2-4 weeks) and at the end of the sprint, the team conducts a sprint review and sprint retrospective to review what was accomplished and identify what can be improved in the next sprint.
